Part Time Teaching and Research Graduate Assistant - Accounting

Responsibilities:

This position will support the accounting faculty with duties to include:

  1. Grading,
  2. Proctoring exams,
  3. Providing tutoring support to undergraduate introductory accounting students,
  4. Assisting with accounting program event planning and programming,
  5. Research assistance (data entry/collection, analysis, literature review),
  6. Occasional on-site assistance, copying, and other duties as assigned.

7.       Participating in general Herberger Business School duties as assigned, including recruitment events, career days, and other university events and activities.

Qualifications/

Requirements:      1.  Completed bachelor's degree.

  1. Preference is given to students with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  2. Preference is given to students enrolled in graduate programs in the Herberger Business School.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  4. Preference is given to students with experience using data analytics tools (Tableau and/or Power BI)
  5. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  6. Demonstrated effective oral and written English communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated organization skills.
  8. Demonstrated teamwork skills.
  9. Knowledge of research and assessment methods/practices.
  10. Ability to quickly understand HBS programs.
  11. Ability to work with people of culturally diverse backgrounds.

Status:                    10 hours/week

Length of Employment:         One academic year

Stipend:                 $2,312.50/semester

In addition to the salary/stipend, both full-time and part-time graduate assistants are eligible for a tuition waiver.  The tuition waiver covers, at the standard rate (please see the School of Graduate Studies’ website for the most current standard graduate tuition amount), up to eight graduate credits for full-time GA’s and six graduate credits for part-time GA’s per semester for the academic year.  Graduate Students enrolled in programs that charge differential tuition, such as the MBA program, are responsible for paying the difference between the standard graduate tuition rate and the differential tuition rate.  Please refer to the School of Graduate Studies’ website to determine current tuition rates.
